So here's something important you need to know about me. I don't really like cake. There, I said it. Gimme a fudgey brownie, or a chewy choc chip cookie over cake any day of the week! I'm the girl at a birthday party, wandering off to do something else while the cake is being cut. Yawnnnnn. I can appreciate the aesthetics of a beautiful cake. That really gets me going. But that's about it. So when I do actually recommend a cake recipe, rest assured, it's going to be a good one!
I made this a few weeks ago, mainly with my Sister in Law's, Sister in mind. We were having dinner that night and I wanted to cheer her up a little! And indeed it did! According to my Brother and his wife, Carly, it was the best cake they've ever eaten. And they both requested it for their birthday's this year, so I'll be making this one a few more times over the next couple of months. Next time I'm thinking of doing caramel popcorn and snickers on top ;)
My sister in law's sister (who I just think of as my sis in law now) LOVED it too! In fact she just messaged me yesterday to get the recipe. Dad inhaled his. I don't think he looked up or took a breath the whole time lol. Then as the leftovers were getting packed up he made it his business to ensure a piece was saved for him to eat the next day!
So, I implore you to give this recipe a try the next time you're baking a cake. It's got all the good stuff, caramel, chocolate ganache and peanut butter icing! How can you go wrong?
