As promised, this blog post is to let you all know where I sourced the items you saw in my instagram picture last night. Most are vintage items I've collected over the years, but there's a few bargains that are available now, that I want to share with you!
Firstly, the layers and layers of throws and blankets in the teepee are a mixture of vintage (that I wash
30,000 times with coconut fabric softener before use) and new items that I've collected over the years from places ranging from boutiques, to glebe markets, to urban outfitters, to Pottery barn and so on. I have a real addiction to throws, and it's not often I can pass one up!
Ok, lets start with the fairy lights (I received lots of inbox's about these last night!) They're from Bunnings! (I'll put links below).
I've found that Bunnings is a really great place to go for simple lighting, especially fairy lights, and these ones were only $49.
Now, the Moroccan wedding throw. Firstly, I should point out, that this isn't a legit Moroccan Wedding Blanket like you all have seen in my previous photos. That thing is the real deal. And while I do love it, it's SUPER heavy, and isn't very practical. It's beautiful to look at, and I definitely use it for gatherings with the girls, or draped over my bed, but it has lots of really solid, hard sequins which, if you step on them the wrong way, can feel like stepping on lego! This Moroccan wedding throw, which I found at SPOTLIGHT on sale for $69.99 is lightweight, and only has a scattering of sequins. It's also got warmer tones, which is different from my original, but I love it too! It's a blanket you can wrap around you, as opposed to my other one which feels like it would crush me to death if I ever did that!
Finally, the TEEPEE. Frommmmmm...... KMART! This is such a bargain, at just $79. It is huge. It's a 4 person camping tent, and honestly, you could definitely easily fit 4 people in this. Brendan and I have a 3 person camping tent, and you know how when they say that, what they mean is, you can fit 3 people in here, if one of them is actually a toddler, and the other 2 are all up in each other's space. Yeah, that kind of tent. The one you crawl into. Geez I loved swanning into this one, walking upright. It puts you in a different headspace (no pun intended). There's so much room for activities! Very easy to assemble to (from what I witnessed from afar, as B put it up and I sipped a glass of wine and picked the playlist lol).
I hope that helps! Please remember if you have any questions, it's always a great idea to comment it on the picture, as I do get a lot of inboxes, and sometimes they get lost in the pile when I don't have time to reply to them all. Also, someone else might have the same question, (and I promise you they do!) so it helps everyone out.
Now go get yourself a teepee, some pretty lights, and a moroccan throw, and go make some memories! (And don't forget the hot chocolate and marshmallows).
